SPECIAL EVENTS - Spring Revival Tasting Dinner 5/28
Jack Schwarze is a Montana raised artist currently working and living in Helena. He received his BFA from Montana State University in his hometown of Bozeman in 2019.
Jack’s passion for wood firing led to building kilns in Montana, Wyoming, California and Curitiba, Brazil. He worked as a resident artist at Cobb Mountain Art and Ecology Project in 2021. His functional wares draw inspiration from Montana’s natural landscape and rural living while incorporating years of culinary experience into the design process.
The wood fired surfaces can resemble corroded metal, thriving lichens, decay and erosion, ultimately creating a sense of time.

ABOUT
Established April 2022, The Hopper Kitchen & Market specializes in scratch-made and locally-sourced fare. Our ever-evolving menu features familiar favorites, with a twist.
Owners Dan and Chelsi Bay drew on their Montana roots and years of hospitality experience to bring to life a longtime dream in a destination along Helena’s historic walking mall known for its tasteful offerings and lively atmosphere. We are humbled and inspired by the talents of our team, ranging from professional bakers and classic French-trained chefs to kitchen folk gaining knife skills for the first time.
The Hopper draws its name from Grasshopper Creek where gold was first discovered in Montana in 1862 and aims to celebrate the abundance of ingredients raised and crafted in Montana. Our laid-back space and diverse menu intend to have something for everyone.
